Award by a Talespinner
The award graphics were constructed with photographs taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. I recommend a visit to the Space Telescope Science Institute, operated for NASA by AURA, website to view these and other photographs of the incredible beauty of objects in our universe, full size and at high resolution.
These three awards are not bronze, silver and gold. They're platinum, platinum and platinum.
The difference in the awards is complexity of the website. The criteria for each is the same. The website must be more than attractive. All the pieces must fit together as do the parts of a Concerto, a Sonata or a Symphony.
The Concerto award is for small websites, a few pages or one or two sections of a few pages each. This will probably be the most rarely awarded because web sites expand as their creators develop their skills.
The Sonata award is for a website of a few sections with pages in each section.
The Symphony award is for large, complex websites of several sections, probably with several pages in each and possibly with subsections in each.
The difference is not just size. The correct award for this site would be Sonata. It's very large, but doesn't have many sections or a great deal of diversity. I recommend an exploration of Award Winning Sites as an aid to deciding which award is appropriate, as well as for the pleasure of it. If I believe your site deserves an award but you've applied for the wrong one, it won't disqualify you. I'll send you the one I think is appropriate.Do not apply for more than one.

The Criteria
The prime criteria are organization, navigation, content and harmony. What do I mean by harmony? Graphics, content and music of each section must be complements. A midi file of Zippity-Doo-Dah does not go with a graphic of a misty forest scene or a romantic poem. If you find a way to make it appropriate, you'll get points.
Proofread your text. Spelling and glaring grammatical errors irritate me. I only speak and read English, so I can't really judge sites with written content in other languages. If English is not your first language, I suggest you ask someone to proofread your text for you. I will make some concessions for sentence structure errors for those to whom this language is not native. Do tell me if it's not when you submit an application for an award.
All awards are subjective. They're my personal opinion that the website is an artistic accomplishment, not just a nice stop when net surfing. However, that opinion is a very educated one. If I think large, or multiple, graphics significantly contribute to the page, they won't count against the site. Waiting three minutes for 'cutesy' which do nothing to enhance the content of the page will. These awards are based on aesthetics and a work of art is worth the wait. I also consider music, or at least sound, to be an important part of a complete artistic accomplishment, though I don't consider it a requirement.
Now, after all that, anyone who submits a site which is a stack of advertising banners or just links, is silly. Anyone who submits a site which promotes copyright infringement of programs, music, graphics or written works for an award from a writer is an idiot.
Who May Apply
Only the person who constructed the website may apply for one of these awards. If you think a website you've visited deserves one, click on my business card at the bottom of the page and recommend it to me personally. Don't submit it.
Professional web designers may apply for an award for a site constructed for a client. I'm not ruling out commercial sites, but only the designer who built the site may apply for an award for it. There is a special 'Duet' form of the awards for those sites which are professionally built to fulfill the site owner's dream. Both the site owner and the designer receive a copy of the award graphic.
Adult content does not disqualify a site, but that content must be artistically presented and an effort made to restrict adult material to adults.
Site Submission
To apply for an award, fill out the form below. Check it before you submit it. You'll be 'redirected' to the Table of Contents to choose another area of the site to explore once you have. If you have difficulty with the form, e-mail me by clicking on my business card. Make sure you include the title and URL of your website in the e-mail, along with your name and the award for which you're applying.
I will try to visit submitted websites within a day or two of receiving a submission, but that may not always be possible. The award graphic and link URL will be sent to winners via e-mail. The link would be appreciated, but is not required. Your site will be listed and linked whether or not you choose to link to mine. If you haven't heard from me within fifteen days, your website did not receive an award. If I can't get there within that time, I'll send you an e-mail with an approximate date. If you make significant changes to a website which did not win an award, you're most welcome to try again.
